I hope that you all are as excited about today's post as I am because I have a very special treat for you all. Moving right along with the lovely style spotlight posts, I'd like to introduce to you all Marie of Marie Mag. If you're not aware of who this Fashionista is then have no fear because it is my pleasure to inform you of her. As usual, I decided to reach out to Marie after coming across her Instagram page and when I noticed that she ran a blog, I decided to check it out. I was immediately impressed by the layout of her blog and how stylish she was. Not to mention, she was able to attend New York Fashion Week! I knew that it was a possible stretch but I decided to reach out to Marie to see if she would be interested in allowing me to feature her on the blog. I thought that it would be a nice change to feature a Fashion Blogger on "Nai's Visions" who had an opportunity to be amongst the hustle and bustle of Fashion Week. I can only imagine what an experience that must have been for Marie.

I was lucky enough to be able to send Marie a few questions regarding her sense of style and her personal experiences in Fashion. So "kick off your shoes and relax your feet" (note - this is a line from an Xscape song entitled "Just Kickin' It" lol) and please get comfortable as I share with you a quick step into Marie's mind:

Hello! Thank you for allowing me to feature you on "Nai's Visions!" Before we get started, tell us a little bit about yourself.
My name is Candace Marie Stewart and I moved from Arkansas to New York to pursue my dreams in Editorial, Fashion and Publishing. I recently received my MBA, completed graduate internships at VOGUE and ESSENCE Magazine and recently left LUCKY Magazine as a fashion assistant.  I am now at PEOPLE Magazine where I am EA to the Publisher and contributor to  I started MarieMe 1921, which evolved to Marie MAG, as a way to document my journey and express my views on fashion.

Wow, you have accomplished quite a lot! At what point did you begin to develop an interest in Fashion as well as developing your own style?
I would say in middle school.   My sense of style was so different from everyone else and being raised in Arkansas was so conservative but I didn’t care.

What would you say influences your personal sense of style?
My mood, New York street style, blogs, Me.
What are your favorite Fashion magazines or blog sites, if any, to catch up on the latest happenings in Fashion?

    • Karlas Closet

    • Bleed for Fashion

Although Fashion Week has ended, I see that you were in attendance at this fabulous event. Can you describe how your experience went?
My experience was amazing.  The people that I met and connections that I made was definitely inspiring.

That sounds great. Do you have any advice for anyone who like to attend Fashion Week next year?
    Start early and be prepared.

I also see that you had a chance to intern with ESSENCE Magazine. How would you describe your experience?
It was amazing. I learned a ton and now I am the Fashion Closet Editor.

Wow, really? That's amazing how your internship proved to be very fruitful for you. Last but not least, do you have any advice for someone who may be looking to start a career in the Fashion industry?
Do not compromise who you are but work hard. Work so hard that no one will be able to ignore you. Work so hard that they remember your name and your work ethic.

And there you have it ladies and gentleman. This young woman obviously knows what it means to go after your dreams and work hard to achieve what it is that you truly want to do in life. If I could describe her sense of style, I would describe it as vintage meets edgy meets chic. Her looks are definitely vibrant but always pulled together and I admire that. I know that you all are dying to see just what I mean so take a few peeks at Marie's wonderful sense of style below:

Doesn't she just ooze the epitome of the word chic? Her style by far takes the cake of whatever I thought the definition behind the word "chic" even meant. This is someone that you definitely want to keep your eyes on!
