I have been meaning to get around to talking about this talented and beautiful woman that I'm sure the world is well aware of by now. I try not to buy into the hype of new talent because I know that the shift of the world's focus can change in an instant. But there is something very intriguing and almost regal about this beautiful newcomer. Her role as Patsey in the unforgettable, groundbreaking and much needed film "12 Years A Slave" struck deep emotional chords within the hearts of many and one cannot deny the amount of raw energy that she possessed within the film.

To see an actress with a darker skin tone receiving positive recognition makes my heart sing and there is no denying that she is confident about who she is. She is not afraid of bold colors that others would swear are fit for those of a lighter skin tone and that is something that I admire in anyone. In an industry where there are some who try to limit who is capable of being considered beautiful or talented, Lupita Nyong'o is breaking down those barriers. She is a woman that you do not want to take your eyes off of and I am sure that we will be seeing a lot more from her.
