I decided to take a break from blogging about anything that focused mainly on Fashion today and instead bring something different to the table. I have just experienced an unexpected and rather painful shift in my life but I know that deep down, something great is going to come out of that change. With that being said, I've found myself reaching for an incredibly amazing book that has been getting me through this time. Even before then, I found myself in love with this particular book and I knew that I had to share the author of this book with you.

If you are unfamiliar with Words From a Wanderer then I am here to personally tell you that this is a book that you MUST have in your possession. Complete with inspiring quotes and love notes, Words From a Wanderer is a beautiful collection of words that are sure to strike a positive chord within you. Some of my favorite notes from this book are:

[caption id="attachment_2851" align="aligncenter" width="640"]Page 29 Page 29[/caption]

The above passages speak out to me the most because we live in a day and age where it can be easy to forget your worth because you may be wrapped up in another person's perception of you. Bad experiences can also cause us to lose sight of ourselves as well and I am relearning that just because this is true, it does not mean that we have to remain lost. Reading the above quotes serve as a constant reminder to myself that life is not over just because certain things may happen and that it's quite possible to pick up the pieces around you and keep moving forward in your life.

The Author of Words From A Wanderer is none other than the beautiful and inspiring Alex Elle. I believe that I stumbled across this gem when I first joined Tumblr and I have actively followed on her on every social media account that she has ever since I discovered her. It wasn't until last year that I truly began to pay attention to her words and realize just how much her willingness to be open with the world about her personal truth was giving me the extra push to accept myself in my own life. There is something quite comforting about witnessing another person have so much love and patience with themselves, not to mention the fact that Alex Elle also possesses an unapologetic nature about who she is. To me, that is an incredible space to be in and she has taken it upon herself to share her light with the world.

Not only is she inspiring when it comes down to her words, her natural hair journey is something that is note worthy as well. She actively runs her own website dedicated to natural hair entitled, The Good Hair Blogand it contains DIY tutorials, features from others with natural hair and of course updates on her own natural hair. This is a site that I come to when I feel that I need an extra boost of inspiration to stick with my decision to allow my own hair to return to its natural state. Below you can find an example of a tutorial that Alex Elle created for those who are struggling with creating the natural hair puff that can be used as a go-to style when you're on the run or do not feel like fussing with your hair that much:

Alex Elle is a woman who is making a positive mark on the world and there is always something to be said about a person who can allow their past experiences to mold them into a positive, influential person in this lifetime.
