Please excuse me while I try to catch my breath. I am in such a state of excitement, shock and overall happiness at the moment. Have you ever attended an event and felt yourself surrounded by good vibes, great food and amazing people? Well, I had the opportunity to experience just that and it was all thanks to the Big Hair & Brunch: Atlanta event that was hosted by Heat Free Hair and one of my favorite authors Alexandra ElleYou may have seen the name Alexandra Elle floating around the blog before (see here) and that is because I truly respect her honesty not to mention the way that she literally radiates positive vibes!

Before the event began, I decided to walk around and take a look at the Heat Free Hair as well as LottaBody tables featuring their respective products/advertising.

Also the attendees were given a free bag full of goodies from LottaBody! How crazy is that??

If you've been following the blog for a while then you may recall that I mentioned my transition back to rocking my natural hair. I am taking full advantage of "protective styles" during my transition phase instead of opting for the "big chop" as I did the very first time that I decided to wear my hair in it's natural state. This event was extremely important to me because I am always looking for inspiration along this natural hair journey and to be surrounded by so many beautiful and diverse women who wear their hair was overwhelming in a good way.

I wasn't sure what to expect going into the event but I quickly found myself talking to different women. It was amazing to be in a room full of women and not feel any hostility or negative vibes. THAT alone made me entirely happy because as you know, I am really big on women supporting other women instead of being competitive with each other. I was able to connect with a few women but I found myself in constant conversation with this lovely woman:

She is so much fun to talk to not to mention that she gives really great advice! I'm glad that I was able to connect with her today.

Now of course I had to speak to the wonderful Alexandra Elle! She is every bit of a sweetheart and again, she has such a warm/inviting spirit. It's one thing to follow someone via social media but to be able to interact with them is another.

I was able to catch a few candids of Alexandra Elle and other attendees as well!

During one portion of the event, Alexandra Elle invited 5-6 women up towards the front of the room to share something that they would tell their 14 year-old-self and the responses were beautiful. I think that it was a great idea to allow different women to share their individual words of wisdom because you never know who may have needed to hear encouraging words today.

Overall, the Big Hair & Brunch event was the perfect way to start off my Sunday. I can definitely see myself attending events such as this in the future. As a matter of fact, I actually LIKE networking and connecting with different people! It's great to step outside of your comfort zone!
